Interfaith Coalition to End Family Homlessness

Ending family homelessness is not just a dream…-

Over twenty years ago, religious and civic leaders convened the first conference on the subject of homeless children and families and drew 200 participants. The meeting spawned a set of programs that have helped many families to exit shelters and establish stable lives.

Today, though, we can do more than try to make the best of a bad situation.

Today we know what it takes to eliminate homelessness. The two key ingredients are making sure homeless families find permanent housing quickly and preventing families on the edge from slipping into homelessness in the first place.

The Coalition’s community partner, the Central Massachusetts Housing Alliance, has developed   effective homelessness prevention and rapid re-housing programs that are widely recognized as best practice models for Massachusetts.

To finish the job, greater support is needed for these and related programs. This is where you and your congregation come in. You probably are doing something about homelessness and housing already. We invite you to expand your efforts by joining the Campaign to End Family Homelessness today.
